Questions
- Which sanctions lists are checked?
- The OFAC Specially Designated Nationals list (US), the UK Sanctions List, the EU Consolidated Financial Sanctions List, the UN Security Council Consolidated List and the Swiss SECO list. All five are re-imported daily.
- How are names matched?
- Names are normalised (accents, punctuation and legal forms such as SA, AG, Ltd removed) and compared by trigram similarity. Identical names are shown as 'Listed'; names at least 75% similar are shown as 'Review'. IMO numbers are matched exactly.
- Is a 'Review' result a sanctions hit?
- No. Similar names are common. A review result means a person should compare identifiers (registration numbers, addresses, dates of birth) with the list entry, which is linked from every result.
- How many names can I screen?
- 5 lines per run, 3 runs a day for free. CommodityGraph Pro screens up to 1,000 lines per run and exports the results as CSV with a timestamp.
